Welcome to Embassy of Denmark's website that holds useful links and information about Denmark and the Embassy's activities in Singapore.
The main role of the Embassy is to work for Danes and to promote Danish values in Singapore.
In its reports to Danish authorities, the Embassy provides with analysis and assessments of the political and economic situation in South East Asia, as well as the situation in and around Singapore, including how a country like Singapore meets the many challenges from globalisation.
One of the Embassy's main tasks is to promote Danish exports in Singapore. The Embassy's trade department provides a great number of services to Danish companies and businesses, including market analysis, assistance in establishment of Danish enterprises, identification of possible local business partners etc. – all custom designed to the needs of each enterprise.
The Embassy promotes the awareness of all aspects of Danish culture. The Embassy participates in the planning of cultural events in music, visual arts, theatre, film, fashion and design, and contributes in this way to encouraging established artists as well as the many new talents that each year wish to present their art in South East Asia. In 2005-6 the Embassy was organizing a wide rage of events in the celebration of the 200-years birthday of Hans Christian Andersen.
One of the Embassy's most important missions is assisting Danish citizens in Singapore. Our consular office at the Embassy quickly and efficiently helps Danes who are in distress or in any other way need the assistance of the Embassy. The Embassy has established a 24 hour service to make sure that there will always be a Danish voice to answer one of the emergency telephone numbers given.
It is my as well as the staff's ambition that the Embassy will be considered as a little part of Denmark in Singapore, where all Danes can acquire information, get assistance to the establishment of an enterprise or a helping hand, if necessary.
The Embassy works in close collaboration with the Danish Seamen's Church in Singapore, Danish Business Association (DABS) and the 1000 strong group of Danish expatriates – one of the largest among the European Union Member States in Singapore.
Yours sincerely,
Vibeke Rovsing LauritzenAmbassador
