Please note that office hours will be strictly observed by Embassy staff.

Submission of application and collection of visa:

First-time applicants for Schengen visa must appear personally at the Embassy at the time of submission of the application. Holders of previous Schengen visas (no older than 3 years from date of submission) may send a representative to submit the application on his/her behalf.

Please note that if an application is not submitted and collected in person the applicant must supply the representative with a letter of authorization/Power of Attorney to submit/collect on his behalf.

It is a basic requirement that any visa applicant has legal stay in Singapore at the time of submission of application for visa.

Visa requirements must be fulfilled before an application for visa will be accepted for processing.

Application fee:

The application fee is at present SGD 120.00*. The fee is payable (by cash or cheque) upon submission of application. Please note that the fee is non-refundable and is not a guarantee that a visa will be issued. The fee is subject to change without prior notice.

No fee shall be paid for handling visa applications from applicants who are:

under six years old,
school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers, when the purpose of the travel is study or other education,
researchers from third countries travelling within the EU for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council 2005/761/EC of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research.

*Special visa facilitation agreements exist with a number of countries. Nationals of these countries, cf. the list below, will be subject to pay a reduced visa application fee of SGD 70 (DKK 260 / EUR 35). The countries are:

- Albania
- Bosnia-Herzegovina
- Georgia
- Macedonia
- Moldova
- Montenegro
- Russia
- Serbia
- Ukraine

Processing time:

Most applications for short-term visa will be processed by the Embassy within 3 working days from time of submission. However, this is of course subject to facilitation of complete and correct documentation.

Some applications (depending on nationality) will need to pass a consultation with other Schengen countries. This procedure is fully automated and will in most cases be completed within 10-12 working days. However, as this procedure is not carried out by the Embassy the time frame for consultation is only a guideline.

Applications that need to be sent to national immigration services for assessment and decision will be sent within 1-3 working days (provided that the application is complete). Approved visas will be issued within 1-3 days after receipt of notification from national immigration services.
